I am still here, honest!

I'm just not as good with a. finding the time to paint my nails and then b. blog about it! I've kind of really fallen for my picture a day blog so have devoted most of my energy towards that. However I did paint my nails for my office Christmas party this weekend and they were super pretty! I had a base of China Glaze Stella and over the top of that I did two coats of Deborah Lippmann's Razzle Dazzle which I got free with this months Glossy Box! Razzle Dazzle is very pretty and I can now see where the Deborah Lippman love comes from, if I had the cash I'd be tempted to get a new obsession with all of those!!

Anyway, enough talking and have some pictures!

A Halloween post!!!

Super cheap look as the polishes were a £1 each from Superdrug! I'd seen the look on reddit and bookmarked it to try and although I messed up the little finger nail on both hands (hence the lack of pictures!) It looks quite good! Inspired by zombies ...

Flormar Purple

I don't know where I've put the bottle for this one so I can't tell you what number it is but seeing as Flormar don't name their polish then it's not too much of a loss!

This polish you could get away with just using one coat but I did two just to see if it made much of a difference. Which it kind of did but you could totally get away with one thick coat!

I also tried the NYC coat from my last post on one of my nails before I took it off and ended up with this ... (which is super pretty!) 

NYC East Village

This is a super sheer polish, I'd say it's best as a top coat for another colour it's that sheer. I put one coat on my thumb nail and then realised I'd need a million coats to get a decent colour so I painted my nails a french manicure white and then popped two coats of the NYC over the top and this is what I came out with ...

It was quite bubbly which was a shame, but I think that might be because it was two coats. I think if you have a creme navy polish then this'd look lovely over the top

Accessorize Unknown from the Polish wardrobe

This is a polish my friend Caroline gave me as she didn't like it as it was too dark, it's from the polish wardrobe they did last year and it's un-named as far as I can tell. The first coat of this was a yummy plum colour but it was too streaky and needed another layer so when I put another coat on it just went super dark It's very vampy but it's not one I'm massively enamoured with!

Take a look if you fancy anything! I'm raising funds to put in my "things for the house" pot and there is no point having a massive stash of polish I'm never going to use more than once! I'm keeping faves to use up and there'll be a few more posts of swatches from my "things to try" pile but I'll be posting less and less. 

China Glaze Jolly Holly

I wore China Glaze Jolly Holly today, I was soooo late swatching this one given that it was from Christmas 2010 but I've worn it a few times and never managed to get a picture and I'd almost done the same as I'd chipped it today but I've taken photo's around the chips!

No7 Black Grape

Even though I have work tomorrow I've decided to put this on! I am an complete and utter sucker for dark navy blue's with a shimmer through them and this is gorgeous! Believe it or not this is my first No 7 Polish, I got it as part of a swap earlier this year and had forgotten about it until now! It took two coats to get the coverage you can see below. The brush isn't the most amazing but the colour more than makes up for that. Love it!

Pics unfortunately don't show the lovely blue shimmer glow that is in this but trust me it's there!

George Smug

I am not a red nails person, despite this I have a few in my polish collection and I'm not even sure why I bought this one because I don't like it in the bottle or on the nail. I tried it today because I knew I wasn't going anywhere important! It's the first jelly type polish I've ever tried and there's lots of visible nail line which I don't like, it. The colour is an orange-y red with flecks of red through it. Really not for me but I've tried it now (It's going in the swaps/sales box!)

Sinful Colors Fuji

I was dithering on what colour to wear today and P said Purple and pointed to this one so this one it is!

I've never used Sinful Colors before and this one was a swap with a friend, it looks quite pigmented in the bottle so I thought it was going to be a one coater but it's actually really sheer! I took pics at one coat, two coats and three which is where I left it as I didn't have all night to faff around. The polish seems good quality but then I've only just put it on so I can't comment! The brush was good enough put nothing special. It'd be interesting to see what this'd look like over a darker polish

And then I was messing with the white balance on my phone as the polish looked bluer than it is in real life and this came out more true to life.
